½ cup melted ceremonial grade chocolate for marble effect
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a Bundt cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
In a small bowl, melt the ceremonial grade chocolate.
Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the melted chocolate over the batter. Using a skewer or knife, gently swirl the chocolate through the batter to create a marble effect.
Add the remaining batter and drizzle the rest of the melted chocolate. Swirl again to create more marbling.Pour hot water into a baking dish and place it on the lower rack of the oven. This helps keep the cake moist.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
